It’s nice to get to the end of this year, 2017. May the fire of truth, a tsunami of good will, an earthquake of understanding and a drought of conflict be the news stories of 2018.
This year I designed and printed (and cut and strung) garlands to send to friends and family instead of a card. Some of them took photos of the garland in their homes. This warmed my heart.
It’s so warm today I just had to go out and do some gardening. I’m cleaning out the dead leaves and stems, moving a rock, and giving the garden some water. It was a dry winter and so far it is a dry spring. The lilacs are in bud and the rhubarb up several inches. The bulbs are starting to burst forth. Sigh. I love it.
Spent a lovely day in Los Angeles with my friend Elaine LeVasseur who took me to see some fabulous contemporary art in several galleries. Highlights were paintings by Romanian artist Marius Berea at the Francois Ghebaly Gallery, and the Revolution in the Making exhibition at Hauser Wirth & Schimmel – work by outstanding women sculptors 1947 – 2016.
